After finishing Deathloop for the second time recently, I was left feeling bewildered, baffled and a little bit confused by Arkane Studio's PlayStation 5 and PC offering.

I knew that I should really, really like Deathloop – I mean, come on, it’s an Arkane Studios developed, 60s inspired, first person shooter based around the concept of being stuck in a timeloop – what’s not to like?

And yet as exciting as I initially found Deathloop's proposition to be during the early hours of my first playthrough, by the end of my second journey with Colt Vahn, I was left trying to figure out why Arkane had chosen to create a game which seemed to be at such odds with the concept at its core - which, is the topic of this video.
