This is a critique of The Silver Case, the first game directed by Suda51 for his company Grasshopper Manufacture. I talk of my history with Suda's work through Killer7, No More Hereos, and Flower, Sun & Rain. I talk a lot of about the obtuseness and tedium of The Silver Case. How much of the narrative left me confused, and how the characters and their dialogue full of swearing seemed overly adolescent.

In the end I think this game is more interesting as the beginning point for Suda's work, as we can see his style and sensibility underneath all the negative elements of this title. That's why it doesn't really matter what it's about. Especially because as I mention in the video, a second playthrough should clear up any issues you would have with what transpired. I just couldn't go through that again.
