This is a critique on The Beginner's Guide, a short narrative game exploring the work of a perhaps fictional game designer. There's a lot to unpack in this game. Criticism and interpretation, the relationship between artist and audience, boundaries, and friendship. The Beginner's Guide is a rollercoaster that leaves the player wondering just how much of it is actually real, or if none of it is. That the designer of the game is the main character of the game, the lines are somewhat blurred. My video is mainly to argue against the possible anti-critic perspective in the game.
