Forces News has been given exclusive access to the science facility which is used to test all military kit before it is sent out to Afghanistan. Staff at the Environment Chamber, at the Defence Science and Technology Laboratories (DSTL) in Porton Down, work to ensure personnel are as comfortable as possible while conducting counter-IED work and foot patrols in Helmand. Our reporter Kaija Larke spoke to Lt Col Toby Evans, Military Advisor at the DSTL.
