Get ready for the next major update for the Nothing Phone! Nothing OS 3.0 is set to launch alongside the Nothing Phone (2a) Community Edition, bringing exciting new features and community-driven designs. The Nothing Phone (2a) will include hardware changes, wallpaper, and packaging designed by the fans, with the Nothing Community also playing a role in marketing the phone.
Carl Pei, the founder and CEO of Nothing, has shared some sneak peeks of the new features coming to Nothing OS 3.0. In a series of images posted on his "X" account (@getpeid), Pei revealed three different lock screen customizations and the upcoming Interactive Dot Animations in Quick Settings.
Default Lock Screen: Displays the clock, day, and date.
Clock + Widget: Shows time in dots with widgets for weather, quick actions, and date.
Expanded Widget Area: Features an analog clock, large date tile, and widgets for quick actions, weather, and contacts.
Pei also teased the Interactive Dot Animation, which includes three layers: input image, live interaction, and final output. Additionally, Nothing OS 3.0 will introduce a new native gallery and community app. The official announcement for Nothing OS 3.0 is expected in September, with the update available for Nothing Phone (1), Nothing Phone (2), and Nothing Phone (2a).
