Now this... This is something special!

Exile: Escape From the Pit is the first game in the Exile trilogy, which takes place in the strange subterranean world of Exile. Exile is populated by the misfits and malcontents of the surface world, people who were forever banished to the underworld for being too strange, or too antisocial, or having too many incorrect opinions.

This is an open-world CRPG (think older Ultima games, classic Fallout, etc) made for the ancient Windows 3.1. It's also a dang fine game, well-written and pretty engaging, especially for its era. While this isn't a standard genre for me to play, this also happens to be a game from my childhood; I didn't get HEAVILY involved in old computer gaming back in the day, but I had a Shareware release of this game and I played it a ton.

And yes, this is modded! This 'Pokemon Edition!' is my own mod...and quite an old mod! In fact, it's the first time I'd ever modded a game, something like 15 years ago. Never finished it...until just recently, when I finished up the rest of the graphics I ended to edit. So this is a mod 15 years in the making! This is simply a graphical asset hack, changing most of the graphics to Pokemon-related ones, but this still makes quite a change to the game.

I am also happy to say that Team Cheer will be the active party for my gameplay! I actually sent each characters' owner the stat sheets so that they could build their character for Exile 1 exactly the way they wanted to, and I will be playing with the resulting choices they picked and trying to make the party work. This game can get quite brutal (classic CRPG, after all), so we'll see how it goes! I'm also allowing myself 3 save-and-load opportunities per stream of the game, to give me leeway with crushing failures while avoiding the boring act of save-scumming. I gotta pick my battles carefully!
