Seattle Symphony wants unpack our biases around classical music. VP of Education & Community Engagement, Laura Reynolds and Director of Communications Shiva Shafii partner up with Principal Flute Demarre McGill and Clarinetist Eric Jacobs to explore the incredible works and accomplishments of composers whose stories have not been told.
Classical music a snapshot of our place in time, in the world and of our culture. At the Seattle Symphony we want to challenge who was framing that picture of our world and expand it to include the values and lived experiences of the diverse people that exist on this planet. We hope that you’ll be part of this picture and join us in thinking about your own industry through this lens. Together we can support diverse voices so all our perspectives and stories can be written in history.
