Grammy-Winning Puerto Rican singer/songwriter iLe (Ileana Cabra Joglar) talks about her solo career, which she launched after a successful run with the acclaimed Latin band Calle 13. To date, she has launched two albums. The first, "iLevitable," won her a Grammy in 2017 for Best Latin Alternative Album. Her new album, "Almadura," is a play on words that means strong soul. This album makes strong statements about certain issues such as protecting the island and culture of Puerto Rico, and about women’s rights, where she uses the analogy of the armor women need to survive during hard times. In this talk, iLe discusses her new album and how her music is a call to action on female issues and empowerment of the Latin community.
