Loot River is a super cool procedurally-generated roguelike / dungeon crawler which I would simply describe as Tetris meets Dungeons & dragons. Basically, you are a hero tasked to explore various levels of flooded dungeons with the superpower of being able to move the platforms at will in order to avoid damage or solve the various puzzles. Killing monsters or finding treasures rewards you with gold & experience, allowing you to upgrade your character after dying.

So, is it any good? Well, I have to start by saying that I really liked the overall macabre ambience , the dark lore & the puzzle/action gameplay so far. The main gimmick is something I've never seen done in a game like this and forces you to think a bit about what you're doing before attacking blindly which is super nice for an adventure fan like me. The graphics look quite good but for some reason, OBS would not let me record at a decent framerate using anything than mid settings but that's only a minor problem & didn't hurt my experience at all.

I highly recommend this title If you want to try something different, fun & innovative.
