Exploring the Moly Mine and Battling With Cactus Burrs VIDEO
Ouch! Getting cactus needles embedded in your hand while exploring an abandoned mine isn't fun! Recently I hiked up Palo Verde Wash in the Anza-Borrego Desert to explore and document the Moly Mine, a supposed gold mine, in the Santa Rosa Mountains. This abandoned mine was active from 1927 to 1932, and was owned and worked by Frank and Mollie Clark. There really aren't any records of how much gold the Clarks pulled out of the Moly Mine. Other sources say molybdenum was mined here. This is one of those frustrating cases where there just simply aren't any real records about this abandoned mine. You'll also get to see in the video my battle with a stubborn cactus needle that attacked me while inside the mine. Ouch.
