Hello again.

Sonic CD is both a genesis and a bane for this channel. Even after being done with this back in late 2019 I still wasn't satisfied.
Even after remaking the first 4 episodes and discovering the original file for the first one I still don't think I did what I should had to.
So, getting back to Sonic CD, hmm... I thought which way I could go if I didn't use KingMeteorStudios' music in Episode 7 and remade episodes.

So I present - my pick for music before my return for levels in past where I intended to use US soundtrack.
For that "unfinished thought" vibe I decided to use 510 prototype of Sonic CD, because I did base my picks on the prototype. Some music comes even from my 2013 pick which I scrapped while deciding to start making Sonic CD videos (these four ones with SEGA Ambulance)

And if you guessed this is a precursor to my Sonic series where I change music for acts constantly - your guess is correct.

Debug mode is used in several places because of level design not allowing me to go further.

Palmtree Panic
Music: Sonic BTS - Star Shores Act 1
This was a time when I've been playing Sonic Before the Sequel religiously. Noticing striking similarities between Palmtree Panic and Star Shores (well, graphics anyway), I decided to insert this song in. While yeah, it could fit more for a Present, I liked having a happy intense vibe without children sounds playing in aqua park.

Collision Chaos
Music: CNC Red Alert - Gloom
For Collision Chaos I went with something that I could call peaceful, forest-like and simple. This song from Red Alert gave me the feel and I decided to use it here. With all those sparking bird robots the sounds of the song feel not-so-out-of-place for me after all!

Tidal Tempest
Music: CNC Tiberian Dawn - Drone
Water is the name of the level. And "Drone" track fits flooded cave theme quite well. With bells in the song and not being too fast compared to Present themes for both JP and US OSTs, I also should note some Western feel coming from the song which could fit Bad Future. So here you go for the Tempest.

Quartz Quadrant
Music: Sonic Time Twisted - Frigid Fortress Past
This music was intended for outdoor sections where you overview the river with logs calmly swimming there. Insane to say that the mountains on the background always reminded me of skyscrapers. Anyway, I wanted to portray this level as being vibrant, happy and lively, because...

Wacky Workbench
Music: CNC Red Alert - Vector
...because Wacky Workbench in the prototype has this unmistakable blue color scheme that got me thinking - hey, maybe this canyon on the background isn't in the desert, but in the highest region of Little Planet? And I decided that the Workbench is actually extremely cold, dry, lifeless and oppressive place where Sonic could feel quite lonely. But the machinery would warm him up - except for those ice flame traps which freeze Sonic. Fits quite well with my portrayal - except that the level is far from being dead.

Stardust Speedway
Music: Ion Fury - Spotter
Believe it or not, I always thought about this theme being quite a fit for US Stardust Speedway. You've got a night sky, an infrastructure, female vocale, tracker instruments - a combination made in heaven for this level!

Metallic Madness
Music: DUSK - A View from Below
For the last level I went with this song. It builds a great suspense for the base - you see factories around Sonic that are laid for kilometers in each direction, each factory manufactures robots non-stop and you have the feeling that a robot army watches you... from below. But you don't want to go below (because death drops), you want to go above. While remnants of the Scrap Brain forces guard the base ready to fight. It would have helped if the sky was yellow instead of blue though. But blue sky in this zone works too - you constantly have a feeling that something's not right here.

Level Complete theme
Music: Left 4 Dead - Level Complete
I am a big fan of Louis "PILLS" remixes so I wanted unironically to include this theme here, lol. Maybe Sonic 3 is the place for it, maybe it will get scrapped again. Only time will tell.
