After years of flying virtually in OVERSPEED with all types of aircraft, today we face one of the most demanding and spectacular maneuvers in naval aviation: a complete CASE I landing in the F-14 Tomcat.
This procedure, inherited from the golden age of aircraft carriers in the 1980s, separated the novices from the legends. Today we will fly it at DCS World, with the Heatblur Tomcat, in a 4K sequence shot at 60 FPS, without cuts or replays.
In this video, we will perform the initial landing from approximately 25 miles from the aircraft carrier, the Marshall at 5,000 feet, and the entire visual pattern until the cable is attached. All in real time, so you can see the true difficulty of this maneuver and understand why only the elite could master it.
