This is a comparison between F-Zero SNES and F-Zero 99 about the massive jump in Red Canyon II.

The jump appears to be shorter in F-Zero 99, requires a lower speed, and can be cleared without holding down on the d-pad. In F-Zero SNES, no matter how fast you are going, it seems to be impossible to clear the jump without holding down. Even boosting won't clear it. However, in F-Zero 99, a speed of at least 434 km/h will be able to clear it, although it's not guaranteed every time. I'm not sure if it's possible to clear it at any speed lower than 434 km/h. Also what's interesting is that when clearing it at 434 km/h, the blue falcon sort of stumbled and created dust and sparks, which might be an indicator that I just barely survived.

There is also a massive jump in White Land II, however, it was possible to clear that jump without holding down in both versions at a fast enough speed.

Multiple different tests are shown. Each test will pause to mark the speed, and then halfway through the video, all tests will be shown again uninterrupted.

Clips With Pausing
0:00 - 457 km/h
0:15 - 434 km/h in F-Zero 99 (dust and sparks / lowest success)
0:26 - 433 km/h in F-Zero 99 (crash out)
0:40 - 517-520 km/h (boosting)
0:56 - Successful attempt, holding down

Clips Without Pausing
1:10 - 457 km/h
1:24 - 434 km/h in F-Zero 99 (lowest success I got)
1:33 - 433 km/h in F-Zero 99 (crash out)
1:45 - 517-520 km/h (boosting)
1:57 - Successful attempt, holding down
