Wait, what? Didn't I already do this?!

Please complain about this thoroughly:

At least the video quality is significantly less... crunchy? Bleeding? Blurry! The original "playthrough" was also from before YouTube supported 60fps!

So, the real question is more of a comparison with how things are between this game and F-Zero 99 being so fresh in our minds.

Honestly, you'd be forgiven for not immediately noticing the difference in scale, because the tracks definitely FEEL more claustrophobic with all those extra troublemakers clogging up every section of usable driving space.

On the other hand, F-Zero the original has obsessively tightly-wound rubber banding courtesy the fact that the cars you can't see are totally free from any actual driving responsibilities, instead paced out by extra meaningless vehicles strung out in between before the real racers even have to grace us with their presence.

Y'know, as opposed to 98 other human-controlled opponents that are wholly accountable to their own skills and whatever insane choices in the pilot's seat.

One thing I found especially fascinating is that it's apparently NOT entirely arbitrary that White Land I and Port Town II are available in the base content of F-Zero 99... they are the ONLY other tracks beyond the Knight League you can freely Practice from the get-go, no need to clear the Grand Prix League it belongs to. Otherwise, you need to survive the whole set to completion before you can do that.
