What's this? Video content that's NOT at least several weeks out of date?

I'd complain about it!

This isn't even a stream archive, although I could have had such... ... ... relatively fast... ish... turnaround now if I'd wanted... this is more or less the happenstance of... I messed up. Several times over.

Specifically, I didn't actually realize I was still recording after some other task, so... I "accidentally" captured an entire run on this Challenge event. Which really only lasted about half an hour, more or less.

"This is going to be too short for a stream." "I don't really feel like being 'on' for this." "It's too hot to light up the stage for the puppet show!"

Of course, the REAL difference here is that THIS scenario was tailor made for ME. No one else. Not even Sheldon. Give me back my weapons, little man. I bought them ALL from you, even the ones I don't like, and you can't pretend like you're loaning me anything here.

This is a setup that I'd be willing to play for longer than five stamps... although the two hours restriction puts a damper on my... legendary thirst for going overboard on... literally anything. Because I can. (Except in this case I can't.)

Also playing a Ranked mode--without the actual "rank" of Ranked?! ...Challenge Power doesn't really "count"... but it IS a related nuisance that all too frequently detracts from many of the new ideas in Splatoon 3. Whatever the case, it's still a net-gain plus, which raises certain Challenges above the rest.

There's a reason I consider the all-random weapon Salmon Run shifts "better" than Big Run... ... ... which is ALSO an all-random Salmon Run shift. But more frequent and less needlessly restrictive, in a way.

But, no! It's like Splatfest! It can't POSSIBLY be a nice thing we can have every so often for the fun unique experience it brings, it has to be manually hard-written. A bespoke experience. Can't make it? Sorry! Will it be around forever? Probably not. Could it be at least to some degree automated? Yes, definitely... but it wouldn't have the same cultural IMPACT! ...and we just can't support that forever.

And then there's the even MORE astounding All-Random Grizzco Weapons shifts! Truly, peak cephalifestyle choices. (Salmonideathmarchstyle choices?)

It's been weird lately... so many Challenges? They even went and dumped the whole Challenge schedule for the season online?

... ... ...but we're still stuck with them being super short-term "well, if you can't make it, then... whatever?" and NOW they're like. Constant. Until they're not.

I thought we worked this kind of thing out with fixing Salmon Run shifts? Heck, even expanding the "effective" duration of Splatfest AND making the Splatfest itself last longer, albeit in two slightly different phases... and then the NEW mode that can only be played in the latter half.

Scratch any of that. I guess we didn't learn anything after all.

... ... ...at the very least, there's nothing NECESSARILY unique about these things. They are at least experimenting with reruns and not every single detail needing to be tailor made to order.

They'll have all the particulars figured out and codified by Splatoon 7, I'm sure.
