So, Williams decided to sack me! Something about irregularities in the pension fund. Not sure what that was about? Anyway, what better way to get your own back than by spending your ill-gotten gains setting up your own team and hunting them down! Enter the AWK Force F1 Team, with its manager for the F1 2024 season, Berger VanDriver.

This stream goes through the team start-up process - The look and feel of the car and team, getting sponsors, arranging promotional functions, and getting into the first practice and qualifying sessions.

Initial Impressions:-
*POSITIVE*
- Really impressed with the customisation for the cars decals! Lots of default sponsor logos to plaster your car in, and they can be moved/scaled/rotated with ease. Also, you can make your own via the logo creator!
- I'm playing on Xbox, and the menu screens (outside of race weekends) feel a bit smoother than before - I may be imagining this, but they seem to have less delay.
- The new helicopter cam looks great! There are improved visuals throughout, the cars look really nice, and the driver models/skins that I've seen so far are a massive improvement on the odd-looking characters from last years' game.
- I've not played much of a race weekend yet, but it looks like cars don't just sit around after they've had an incident on circuit now. Time will tell!

*NEGATIVE*
- While there are plenty of randomly generated team personnel and drivers to hire, they don't appear to be voiced (not even some generic one-fits-all dialogue), which is a shame since Frontier made a big noise about there being a lot more dialogue this time around. I've hired some of these team members, and already regret it a little.
- I may be wrong, but I think my drivers may have dramatically changed their opinions on setup right as we were closing in on the optimal settings? I'd need to re-watch my stream to check, but this is a possible bug if I'm not mistaken.
- I've been hearing a lot of chatter online about the game being too easy - Hopefully the day 1 patch has fixed this, again, time will tell.

The game is fundamentally the same as before, there are some iterations on previous games, and some new features. If you've not played an F1 Manager game before, this is the one to begin with. If you have played the previous games - It's down to how much of a fan you are, really :) F1 Manager 24 introduces mechanical failures, the ability to customise your entire team and cars looks, the ability to simulate a whole race if you wish and what are IMHO slightly improved menu layouts. It's not a radical change in most regards, but I'm sure it's going to keep an old F1 junkie such as myself happy for many hours :-D
