FA7i Audio Workstation - Overview
18Based upon our one of our most popular audio PC specifications, the 3XS FA7i is based around Intel's "Coffee Lake" Hexa-Core i7 8700 CPU with additional hyper-threading, giving a total of 6 physical and 6 additional virtual cores to work with. As with all of our audio systems, the models found in our ready to ship series are all tested and configured to ensure the widest compatibility possible with common studio software programs, and to ensure the smoothest running of all of your tools and applications.
During our initial in house validation phase we test with all of the popular audio sequencers including industry leaders such as Cubase, Pro Tool, Sonar, Studio One, Ableton, Bitwig, Reaper and FL Studio to ensure the widest compatibility straight out of the box, meaning that you set it up with your audio interface & software of choice and be ready to go with the absolute minimum of fuss.
TTo install your software on, we include a fast 250GB Samsung 860 EVO SSD, which comes with your OS on and is ideal for running your sequencer and projects off. Alongside the OS drive we also include an additional 1TB Seagate Barracuda mechanical drive for storage and sample libraries. If you wish to migrate over your old project drives or make sure you can add in additional storage in the future, the case has 6 more drive bays making it easy to expand accommodate any future expansion you wish to carry out.
The system has 16GB of Corsair memory included, which we find is ample for a lot of production duties carried out on this level of machine, but we also make sure to leave two more slots free in case of future upgrade plans should you find yourself needing more in a few years time.
This i7 based configuration is the higher powered option amongst our two F-Series setups and the specification lends itself well to those artists who are working fully in the box studios where full in the box production is taking place with more emphasis on sound design with complex layers and large channel counts. As with all of our studio based systems the performance to noise level is a key concern, where we always strive to ensure we get the maximum amount of performance with the least amount of disruptive system noise through careful component consideration.
