Part 6. What a great and charming game. I love the Fable series and had never played this version before, freaking awesome. As usual I played on hard mode and holy freaking crap is the beginning of this brutal. Like insanely unforgiving. I'm not sure if my approach was right or wrong, but it felt like the game really wanted you to grind to get past the first few screens, so that's what I did. Once I got a few new powers and some health and some gear we finally made some progress. I love the fact you can do boasts and make the game even harder. There really isn't much of a reason to do them other than for pure self satisfaction. It's just a few dollars for a lot more frustration. I did enjoy running around naked. The challenges are fun, but can get tedious trying to do lots of them without taking damage. I tried to do all the missions I could, there were plenty that were cool and interesting and some that were very bad and evil. The controls were fine, but it would have been cool that instead of giving the player a choice between just 2 schemes they also gave the player the ability to customize the controls as well. I liked the traditional controls for spells but I also wanted full control of the camera which was not possible. I went good, but I did do a fair amount of evil things along the way for some laughs and some sadness. The story is charming and the characters are a lot of fun. I loved the end game stuff and was a ton of fun, especially the final boss. The game was also freaking gorgeous. I loved how colorful and vibrant it was. The music was also very soothing and fitting for the mood. The combat was snappy, it's super easy just to run around and bash enemies with big stick and forget there are other approaches, like magic. The magic honestly doesn't get all that good until you hit some later levels, which is disappointing. The enemies early on are far too tanky to ever use any considering how costly they are and how small your magic pool is to do any good other than some basic healing, so melee is the way. Archery seemed way to slow as well, but getting your speed up to whack things faster was a must. The game really wanted you to build a melee character. So even though I wanted to focus on magic it just wasn't viable early on. It's a great game and I had a blast playing it again. Enjoy my somewhat blind playthrough.
