Not to be mistaken for the quest with the same name in Fable: TLC. Based on evidence that can be found in various builds of the game, the original Fable was also meant to have a Ransom Victim quest. However it was cut before its release on the original Xbox. This is a recreation of a cutscene that was removed during the game's development. Based on this dialogue the Ransom Victim quest was meant to play out differently.

This is the cutscene that plays when you meet up with the quest giver. Which is a young man, looking for his "lover" and he claims that he has no idea where she went. It's your job to look around Oakvale to find her.

The Cutscene Markers and some of the other dialogue intended for this quest where replaced with the ones that we experience in Fable TLC, however, they are still referenced in other builds of the game. Bare in mind that this is not a developer made cutscene and is merely my interpretation of how the cutscene may have played out, based on the evidence.
