Thoughts so far:
Fishing and Critter collection are still my favorite things. I'm not thrilled about the romance options, as there seems to be rather limited options. It might open up more as I play, so finger's crossed that is in fact the case. My focus is getting to the mines so I can start to upgrade my equipment, furthering exploration on the island and making money.
I do wish there was a bit more to the map. It's great for finding specific people, but less useful for finding a specific location. Minor complaint.
