Carnivores is the definition of a cult franchise. I was intrigued to find through research just how mysterious and complex the lore behind what at first appears to be a relatively straightforward dinosaur hunting game. For one thing this is NOT a game set in the past, but in the future of 2190 A.D. Dinohunt Corp has laid claim to a planet FMM UV-32 which is teeming with alien life that resemble early interpretations of what dinosaurs were supposed to look like. Now they charge enterprising hunters to travel to this planet and hunt the creatures in numerous kinds of climates armed with weapons for lethal or non-lethal takedowns and display.
Dinohunt Corp is a rare future corporation which is not overtly villainous so much as it is mysterious. There's a number of unanswered questions in carnivores (like why the aliens resemble old artwork before scientific advancements) that keeps the series lively with an active modding community.
A faithful film version would keep the mystery and majesty of the situation alive, with maybe some hints about the wider possibilities, not to mention to age old theme of man willingly pitting himself against nature.
