StarFox is a classic which refined a genre and remains one of the most recognizable Nintendo mascots. The story of the game I think is intriguing, not the least because of it's canonical connection with F-Zero!
In the Lylat system, a tyrannical mastermind Andross is exiled to the remote planet Venom for his crimes, only to return with an army. Now Fox McCloud, the son of the man (well, fox) responsible for losing his life to stop him in the first place must bring together the scattered members of his father's mercenary group to bring peace to the galaxy through superior firepower and maneuvering. I'd LOVE to see a movie one day based on ship to ship combat in space. There's been space battles but not really a film set almost exclusively in space itself, concerned with gigantic capital vessels and fighters locked in dogfights.
