Conglomerate casts the player as the director of a government agency tasked with commanding a squad of military clones called Ghosts to fight the rampant organized crime facilitated by a corrupt cabal of corporations. I'm a huge fan of games like The Bard's Tale and Wizardry which Conglomerate clearly draws inspiration from, and the game blends elements of these with additions like a facility hub for upgrading and healing your soldiers and traumatic disorders they can develop if too inundated with drugs or damage and permadeath for agents who fall.
Something about the setting and the concept fired my imagination. I could picture an awesome action sci-fi series or film following a batch of these clones who, although their mortal shells die, form a bond by fighting gangs of cyborgs together streets.
Sort of a cross between Altered Carbon and Band of Brothers.
