Deep to the south of Cairo, the only major airbase opposing the IAF, Ben Suef, is defended by interlocking rings of SA-3s, SA-2s, SA-6s and Hawks. This is the 1st mission to reduce the air defenses leading up to Ben Suef, home to a squadron of EAF F-16s.

In this ultra deadly environment we are using tried and true weapons and tactics (iron bombs and AGM-65) to destroy our target rather than the "fire and pray" approach of SEAD, or suppression of enemy air defenses. In the early 80s SEAD was still a crapshoot, and we find ourselves here using the same tactics that were used by Weasels in Vietnam, but up against a superior IADS, and against American make Hawk SAMs. We must stay so low the engine eats sand.

This is one of the most heavily defended targets i've had the opportunity to blow away. And on the way the EAF wants to tell us their piece of mind. Enjoy.
