Falklands war explained in three minutes
In April 1982, Argentina launched Operation Rosario, aiming to capture the Falkland Islands.
Following the invasion, the UK formed a task force aimed at retaking control of the islands as part of Operation Corporate.
As many as 35,000 British personnel were involved in the Falklands conflict, including servicemen and women who deployed there, and also those who helped prepare the task force and equipment.
The conflict lasted 74 days, with 907 people losing their lives.
