Fall Guys - Falling Right into the Battle Royale as a Newbie!
Jumping right into the Blunderdome here, with the Fall Guys of old steadily progressing into the Fall Guys of today, slowly catching up as I make my mark in what is my first proper adventure into the new genre of 'Battle Royale', vying to be the top bean in a colorful world clashing with fierce competition for that glorious crown!
Ahhh, to be back after a good while on here, having taken another of what was a several months long break from YouTube to give me some inspiration here once more! I figured I'd handle the uploading of footage here a little differently this time, seeing as there are some games I care more deeply for than others, mainly those I have invested a considerable amount of time into here, hence why Fall Guys naturally stood out to me as a top contender for me to start finally uploading at long last!
For the curious, before I even delve into my own personal history here, Fall Guys is a playful and rather child-friendly party platformer style of game that hones into this new unique genre called 'battle royales', which is a highly competitive gamemode normally centered around PvP-focused games where one man out of anywhere from a measly 12 up to a gargantuan 100 (or even HIGHER, for some of the especially experimental games of sorts!) players that all start on even ground and work their way up from there, be it through skill, RNG or a mixture of both, to be the ultimate winner of each showdown.
Now why this makes for an interesting case here with Fall Guys is something I will be touching upon time and time again throughout this lengthy series but, for now, let's leave it there as this is something I am quite late to here, both having first originally played it around the middle of Season 3, having missed out on the MASSIVE start of Season 1 as well as what some had considered (up until this point anyhow) a big disappointment as Season 2 only brought around a meagre 5 rounds during it's entire runtime here, something I wasn't around for but enjoyed immensely, having waited around for this long to get into the Fall Guys scene myself!
With how I had only watched a small series of videos focusing on people's own adventures of the then-titular Fall Guys indie game, I figured it was about time to start my own mark on the series here on the 7th of February 2021, eager to prove myself that I had what it took to give my first ever game a proper shot!
...Which evidently I fumbled completely and, as amusing as it looks, failed on my first ever round of Fall Guys over on Hit Parade which, whilst not an actual challenging level of sorts, is FAR from the ideal beginner's level for a newbie like myself at the time! Though I did manage to complete my first actual first round on my second go of it, with that honour going to Knight Fever which is arguably an even harder level that, thankfully, I managed to make up for by playing it safe and not taking risks that I knew, at this moment in time, was nowhere NEAR skilled enough that I would be far later on down the road!
Alas, despite even giving my first second round, Big Fans, a decent pass itself, I ended up flopping on the third round which, sadly, I hadn't recorded in advance, though I suspect it was my first go at what some consider to be 'notorious' as the team games is where skill does still play a part, arguably more so than most others, but it's where one individual can only do so much and, as a result, can be often frustrating at times, but more on this and so many other topics of contention surrounding Fall Guys in the MANY episodes to come!
For now, I do hope to showcase Fall Guys as it was back then, to show that it was truly the most 'wonderful time of the year' for me back then! (At least, so far as that trailer for Fall Guys' Season 3 over at E3 would have you believe anyhow!)
In any case, I hope you enjoyed the video and any constructive comments or criticism is appreciated!
