Description:
I know playing one of Starmage's earliest games is going to embarrass her due to the lack of polish, but BlueSkies is a series of games and that means I need to play the first one to understand the others.
In the world of Vyen, the pacifistic healer Skye must gather allies in order to defend Vyen from a mysterious threat, the Dark Riders, and he'll have the blessing of Vyena to help him accomplish this task. Can he pull this off without access to the attack command?

The whole place is a ghost town because Gwir turned everyone into mutant soldiers. The only survivor left will help us by locking the castle door behind us so that reinforcements can't get in. However, you will be stuck inside for the rest of the game and you will have absolutely no access to any shop. IMO, you shouldn't bother with the ultimate weapons and armor, since skills in this game scale poorly anyways. Having high HP and MP from leveling will do so much more for you, as well as the MP cost halving accessory.

Gwir's backstory and motives are kind of weak. His wife died of illness rather than because of politics, which makes his excuses very unsympathetic. If you want to avenge your wife, then you should invent universal health care and/or fund a medical institute.

Surprisingly, Gwir accepts the party's forgiveness, but Cael kills him. Turns out Cael was using him all along. I'm guessing he thought that starting a world war using Gwir would result in most of humanity being wiped out, making it easier for him to finish them off. Maybe Cael poisoned Gwir's wife and made it look like an illness, but there's no real confirmation.
Apparently, Cael and Nimir are part of a greater organization of Celestials that infiltrate humanity in order to maintain peace, but Cael twisted the organization's doctrines to genocidal extremes. Cael tries to kill Skye, but Nimir takes the hit instead and dies.
Cael transforms into an angel-devil hybrid, which is supposed to be the true form of the Celestials. He'll then create a portal to space so he can nuke the planet from orbit.
Note that even with Gwir dead, the mutants are still in the castle and you can't leave to buy stuff.

Divina heals the party and adds her summon skill to Skye's kit, which is helpful because there are undead enemies here for some reason.

We still don't know much about the Celestial organization that Cael and Nimir belonged to. We also don't know what happened to Silver, who just gets off scott-free I guess. Also, we never got to see the super mutant that Gwir supposedly had planned. Maybe Silver will complete the mutant in the next game and become a major threat?
Caven got over his racism off screen. Maybe hearing Cael paint humans with a broad brush caused him to realize that he used the same reasoning on Xmeillians.
Yeah, this game isn't very good, but I still played it for the sake of understanding the second and third games.
