Fallen Star #16 - Trekking Across the Desert
1Fallen Star is a hack for Golden Sun that rebalances tons of things, increases the difficulty, and adds content such as new bosses/attacks/items.

Enemy wise, the stuff here shouldn't be too bad, but Salamanders have access to Fireball while Orcs have a large amount of HP to blow through.
The main boss of this area, the Manticore, is not quite as powerful as the Hydros Statue thankfully. Whereas the Hydros Statue relied on pure power to take your team down, Manticore focuses more on status effects.
Damage wise, Manticore has stuff like Solar Flash, Mad Blast, and Heat Mirage. None of these attacks will reach anywhere near the level of pain Ice Blessing & Ice Horn from Hydros Statue caused. Ivan could go down from full HP if he's unlucky, but he needs to be the target of two powerful attacks for that to happen.
As for Manticore's status effects, it can cast Curse to put a death sentence on a single character, the aformentioned Mad Blast can cause delusion, and one of its other attacks can inflict the cursed status (Honestly don't know how this is supposed to debilitate someone besides a random chance to do some small damage), and it has Bind. If this hits Mia, you could be in a bit of trouble if you don't have some backup party heals available.
Manticore's other strong suit is its HP total. You're going to be here for awhile so make sure your resources are plentiful enough.
The best strategy here is to stick to a mostly offensive assault. Bringing out summons like Ramses, Kirin, Atalanta, or Nereid can do some nice damage (200 from Kirin, 300+ from the rest of the summons).
When those summons aren't available, Isaac & Garet should just stick to their power skills (Ragnarok & Heat Wave), Ivan should spam Plasma or buff up the attack of the duo, and Mia should spam Ice when she doesn't need to heal. Shouldn't be hard to work around these if anyone gets their psynergies sealed thankfully.
Good news for this boss battle, Ivan actually survived it, yay!
