Fallout 3 is the re-imagining of the Fallout franchise after Black Isle and Interplay were forced to cancel Fallout: Van Buren in 2003. Bethesda bought the rights in 2004 and spent the next 4 years working on the title. In 2006 development ramped up after Elder Scrolls: Oblivion was released with over 75 members on the dev team!
