Fallout 4 is now an excellent example of how people will be happy to lose features, mechanics, and depth because they want to do as little thinking and choosing as possible. And oooh, graphics.

While not a bad open world shooter, Fallout 4 is an RPG that's on par with Borderlands 2 and Farcry 4. It's all about the shooting, and much much less about the actual RPG.
