After testing them out I can conclude that its much more worth it just using the Caltrops as the Bear traps weigh too much next to explosive mines that will usually cripple limbs anyway.
in addition, they're mush more costly to make, requiring somewhat rare resources to craft whereas you can craft Carltrops from just steel. The poisoned Caltrops are the most effective of the bunch and are the way to go to if you wanna use these things.
