I'm looking at a Fallout 4 mod called 'Functional Weapon Racks' by SecretAgent99 on the Nexus that adds three new objects to the building menu, which let you place weapons on them for display purposes.

This mod is in a very alpha state at the moment so expect quite a few bugs, however the idea is fantastic.
