One idea gaining traction is the possibility of taking players to the moon and back in the next installment of the post-apocalyptic franchise. While Fallout has a sparse history of space exploration, there are references to manmade spacecrafts and various space-related concepts throughout the franchise. In Fallout 4, there are references to a battle that took place on the moon, which could foreshadow a future conflict in the series. By using Starfield's experience and technology, Bethesda could create one of Fallout's most iconic locations with a space station on the moon. A visit to the moon in Fallout 5 would be a great return to form for the franchise and improve on the current formula in ways not seen before. Although Fallout 5 has been confirmed by Bethesda, it is not yet in active development.
