After nearly 20 years, Marvel's First Family is finally officially joining the MCU. Director Matt Shakman is heralding the rise of the core four with The Fantastic Four: First Steps, with an ensemble cast of stars bringing this found family to the silver screen in a retro-futuristic look at the MCU's 1960s era.
Shakman and Marvel Studios had the massive responsibility of introducing Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn), and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) to the ever-expanding cinematic universe in both a comprehensive origin story, while dropping us directly into the Fantastic Four's most harrowing battle yet. When Earth finds itself on the menu of the planet-consuming space god Galactus (Ralph Ineson), it's up to Reed and the family to save their home and their future from annihilation.
Ahead of First Steps' theatrical debut, Collider's Steve Weintraub had the opportunity to sit down in the Baxter Building with none other than the Fantastic Four themselves. Check out the full conversation in the video above, or in the transcript below, where Pascal, Kirby, Quinn, and Moss-Bachrach share shocking deleted scenes and discuss their experience joining Avengers: Doomsday alongside the MCU greats.
