Far Cry 6 (on Steam) Demo First Look
0If you have played a Far Cry game before then you will know what to expect. Unfortunately for me, nothing impressed me, nothing new was brought to the table. I played on expecting something to surprise me, but to no avail. Disappointments were the AI, both enemy and allies, once combat started they were not very smart or threatening apart from spawn and storming you en masse. Maybe this has always been a problem for Far Cry series? Crocodile pet was more a hinderance than a help as it was not intuitive to control. The supremo weapon was automated, mortars were not really aimed or reliable, mounted guns, the flamethrower and sniper rifle all felt underwhelming. Stealth was mostly not an option because the enemy AI almost always would look at you, no matter your distance, range, or if you had holstered weapons. Destroying plantations was a long boring process. Standard guns were rubbish and modding guns would be a very long slog. Enemies were sporadically bullet sponges, sometimes they take big hits from first few bullets and then the bullets just stop doing much, making it annoying to finish them off. Story was just run of the mill, focusing on over the top shock value. Overall it was difficult to have satisfying combat engagements unlike in Division 2 where almost every combat engagement was satisfying. Disabling enemy silhouettes and the radar would not be enough to improve the experience.
