FarCry 6 - Ps5 Gameplay
0I lost interest in Returnal pretty quick, there’s frustrating and then there’s Returnal so for the time being that’s on the back burner so I went back to a game series I know you can trust… FarCry.
I’ve played all the FarCry games from 1 down to New Dawn, quite recent on my SteamDeck I replayed 4&5 two games which I absolutely love but I never tried 6, I saw trailers and gameplay vids and it just looked so different to the other games it kinda out me off picking it up. Again I see FarCry 6 on Ps+ and thought why not try it while it’s free 🤷🏼♂️
Sooo I can confirm that this Farcry is completely different to the rest of the series and not in a good way….
*The story is waaaaay too weak and i found it to be not engrossing at all
*You dont care at all for any of the characters including your own
*the enemy AI is about as stupid as it gets
*there are hardly any vehicles and it’s a tonne of walking between missions which takes a ridiculous amount of time
*The graphics. Being a ps5 title and I’ve seen what is capable (ghost of Tsushima etc) I found FC6 to be average, it kinda looked on par or worse than Farcry 5 that i played on my PS4 pro.
*Glitches. I’ve had a load and only played the game for 2 hours tops. I’ll have an someone talking to me and they’ll finish then repeat the same thing and I cannot move until they finish. Annoying as hell.
*The gun mechanics feel sooooo different on this game, you shot and the gun sprays absolutely everywhere, now I don’t know if they were going for realism but it ain’t and doesn’t work at all
*Basic missions being way too long because of people talking or pointless cut scenes that make a 5 minute mission 15 mins+
Now there was some good in the game because it wasn’t all bad. For example it being a Farcry game you know exactly what to expect, shotting, carnage, gun battles, driving etc.. you do get all that and it is a lot of fun. I love the fact you can pet and ride horses now and some of the new weaponary is crazy fun to blow people up with lol.

I just feel this game being a bit of a cash grab, yes it Is Farcry but doesn’t feel it and If I really want to play Farcry again I’ll go back and replay 4 or 5 (which are both, amazing games)
That being said I won’t give up on it and will put some hours in
