Farming the Torch God for INFINITE Money in Terraria
13,532Today, we will look into the Terraria AFK Money farm design which is one of the earliest designs you can complete in a run, while still getting reasonable cash income. It is based around the Torch God event, that drops Torch God's Favor once completed. Our goal is to automatize the process and get multiple copies of that item, then sell it to NPCs.

Common tips and concerns:
- You have to NOT use Torch God's Favor on the character, as it will disable the event trigger. If you did use it, you would have to make a new character to farm.
- For a similar reason, your inventory has to be full as well. Torch God's Favor has to drop on ground once event is completed to not disable the trigger.
- Torch God event starts whenever there are 101 torches placed in close proximity at the underground/cavern layer. Make sure to not leave any stray torches outside of the room, as they can snipe you.
- Due to how minecart hitbox is positioned, the torch area should be slightly above the center (3 blocks). Otherwise it becomes much more risky to go underneath torches.
- The design is 99.9% safe: no enemies can enter the area and the torches should always miss. The run I did in a video survived for a full hour with no hits taken. However, if possible, put some effort into survivability: place campfire/heart lantern, get some armor, increase max HP. The torch flares deal 40/80/120 dmg in Classic/Expert/Master Mode respectively.
- Arms Dealer housed in Desert with Nurse has almost maximum happiness (1.27x out of 1.33x). If you strive for absolute maximum, the earliest combo should be Golfer housed in Forest with Angler and Zoologist. Slightly more bothersome to get the NPCs but still pre-boss.
