Fast-switching in CS:GO
9,218I tried with the AWP and with a couple of other weapons, but it seems as though they're all the same. In other words, invisible timers stop you from exploiting the system.
As others have pointed out, there are reasons for still quick-switching, I've listed them below:
Fast-switching doesn't give you any sort of time advantage, but WILL prevent you from auto-zooming in again.
It will also cancel a reload that you've initiated.
Fast-switching will replace the reload sound with a 'switching weapons' sound.
Who would have thought that fast-switching was so complicated.
