33I believe I have been asked what happens to the Kusabi. Hopefully this answers your questions.
The Kusabi Sacrifice was of Seijiro Makabe, the folklorist. It failed because he WANTED to die and see what the ritual was like, even if he had to be the sacrifice.
BTW, a Kusabi ritual goes like this: A Kusabi is to please the Hellish Abyss temporarily so they have time to get more twins to sacrifice. An outsider of the village is chosen to be the Kusabi sacrifice. They are then tied up and the priests stab him repeatedly. They believe the more pain the Kusabi goes through, the better of a sacrifice he is. Then they take him down and drag him to the Abyss, where he is thrown as a sacrifice. The Kusabi HAS to remain alive in order to be successful. As failed Kusabi is pinned on a wall. You shall this wall when I run away from the morners and get the vanishing picture "Failed Kusabi"
The first ever Kusabi sacrifice was not an outsider, but a past Ceremony Master himself.
