Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works (2010) - Anime Movie Review
Welcome to my review of Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works (2010). This is the 2010 movie version by Studio Deen, not to confused with 2014-2015 anime series by Ufotable. At 7:09 I go into spoilers. Well, let's get right into it. This movie is a complete mess! It expects you know who these characters are prior to watching the movie (which I did), while it rushes through so many different plot points. There are scenes that are supposed to be shocking and even sad, but I ended up just laughing at them because of how ridiculous they were. Despite the story not making a whole lot of sense, the animation, particularly the fight scenes and the ost were very good. Overall, I did enjoy this movie, but it was for all of the wrong reasons. It's a so bad it's good kind of movie and despite enjoying it for that, I almost wish that I had skipped it in favor of the Ufotable adaption which tells the story over the course of 26 episodes instead of 100 minutes. If you are a fan of the Fate series, I would still recommend it because of how insane it is, but if you have not seen any of the other Fate series before I would recommend starting with the 2006 Studio Deen adaption which I have also reviewed on the channel. My next Fate review will be 26 episode adaptation of Unlimited Blade Works by Ufotable. Thanks for watching, let me know your thoughts in the comments down below, and have a great day!
