FE Hack Reviews #2: Elibean Nights by Archibald [CH2 P4] - Raven defeats the Glass Wannabe
And now we return to your program, Geitz the Nomad Hunter.
In this video, I...
- Eat a soda
- Realize that Thorben is Glass in disguise
- Whine about Wil's unwillingness to cooperate
- prematurely end the chapter
- Voice act
- Laugh at awkward music timing
Chapter Ranking:
Level Design: B
Is it me or are those chests on the right placed there for no reason? I didn't find any chest keys, so... what's the deal? Aside from that, very good map design.
Character Balance: A
Each character had a distinct use. Even though Geitz was slightly better than most of the cast due to his awesome strength and quick axe, he didn't overshadow everyone as much as I made it seem.
Challenge: C
The only challenging part was the very beginning with the group of rushing Paladins and Nomadic Troopers. Aside from that, most enemy units just stood in place and waited for me to get in range, so it felt like all I was doing for most of the Tale was bait & switch tactics.
Cutscenes: A
Still very good. Only two problems. The first being the ending cutscene where, after Raven kills Marquess Araphen, happy music plays, like, RIGHT AFTER the fact. It kind of offset the scene's seriousness due to the timing. The other problem is at the very beginning of the Tale. You briefly hear Lyn's theme before the Hector confrontation cutscene starts. I still give cutscenes an A however. The dialogue was still very interesting, and the flaws were very minor.
Overall: B
A few minor flaws, but I felt overall it was still a great chapter.
