F.E.A.R. Demo - Any% Speedrun in 2:02 (RTA)
5Ngl, I was quite surprised to have stumbled upon this demo version of F.E.A.R. which I've never seen/played before, so I was excited to try it out casually first. I played it on extreme difficulty like a maniac and it took me like 10 minutes to finish, with everything collected.
Since I am a speedrunner of the actual full version of the base game, I decided to do a speedrun for it lmao. The game plays pretty much just like the 1.0 release of the full version, exception making the fact that ladder glitching is straight up impossible and the only way to get the airwalk effect is by mass crouching into a door that gives you the airwalk effect. That glitch also works on the latest steam/gog version of FEAR, however it's less consistent for some arbitrary reason. Not only that, but Point Man seems to slide all over the place at the speed of sound if he has the airwalk effect on him lmao. Fortunately ladder clipping is also possible in this version of the game, just like the 1.0 retail release of FEAR, which allowed me to clip out of bounds and just fly to the end of the demo level with the airwalk effect on me.
Timing-wise, I decided to start the run right after the first map starts playing from the black screen just before the car cutscene and end it on the appearance of the REV-6 at the end.
Sub 2 minutes is easily doable, but I won't go for it just yet. I just wanted to do this run as more of a small showcase of how broken it is, just like the base game. I hope you enjoyed it!
