The KDE Plasma Desktop is an amazing environment that offers a beautiful appearance of the desktop that Total takes advantage of modern computing technology.

In fact, through the use of visual effects and scalable graphics, the desktop experience is not only smooth but also pleasing to the eye.
Now, the KDE Project today released the first one-off release in its series of KDE Plasma 5.22 desktop environments, KDE Plasma 5.22.1, fixing several issues and improving existing functionality.

KDE Plasma 5.22.1 is here just a week after the release of the KDE Plasma 5.22 desktop environment series , and includes improvements to the Wayland Plasma session to detect additional screens in NVIDIA/AMD multi-GPU configurations, as well as to blur the transparent background behind task switchers.
It also reintroduces the MilkyWay wallpaper from KDE Plasma 5.21, improves support for Flatpak apps in the Plasma Discover package manager by fixing an update detection warning, fixes global shortcuts that don't work, improves the lock screen in Plasma Mobile, and fixes several other bugs.
This first point release of KDE Plasma 5.22 also enhances the new Plasma System Monitor application to open the โGet New Pagesโ view in an overlay instead of a narrow column, and makes the Network Speed โโwidget the BBC weather data source of the Weather widget and custom shortcuts to โScroll through appsโ work correctly.
Also, KDE Plasma 5.22.1 improves the File Search page in the system settings to no longer display a weird duplicate header, renews the autostart page in the system settings to correctly show the icon for startup applications, and improves window shadows maximized in multi-screen configurations.
How to install or update
Plasma 5.22.1 is already official, but as usual this doesn't mean we can easily install it on our Linux distribution.
The first system to have it available will be KDE neon, where it will probably arrive in the next few hours.
Later, they will add other distributions, among which Rolling Releases will come sooner, although that doesn't mean they will soon; it may take a few days or even a few weeks.
Then the KDE Plasma 5.22.1 desktop environment will soon arrive in the stable software repositories of your favorite Linux distribution, especially releases like KDE neon, Arch Linux, openSUSE Tumbleweed and Solus. It is a recommended update for all KDE Plasma 5.21 users.
