Fertilizer Calculations + Buggy Setup Tutorial
Before you go any further, you need to do some soil sampling before heading off to buy fertilizer or you'll likely be wasting your money on something you likely don't need or even worsening the soil conditions with excess!
With that being said, I recently watched a video that demonstrated someone's ignorance about setting up a fertilizer buggy. Ultimately, I decided to combine two old videos that I made several years ago into an educational video that folks can reference if you're not familiar with the process.
The video isn't intended to make fun of the situation but rather to be informative. Typically, the business selling the fertilizer takes care of the calculations via computer software and the employee loading the buggy will make the necessary door/gate adjustment based on the fertilizer density before the customer leaves the premise.
As the video in question demonstrates [ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2S2a4ApcZ5o ]
... this isn't always the case and sometimes people make mistakes so it's always a good idea to double check the calculations and buggy settings. Seeing how fertilizer companies are currently PRICE GOUGING farmers, a mistake can end up being quite expensive. These mistakes can easily be avoided if you simply possess the knowledge hence the purpose of this video.
The fertilizer density cup used in the video can be bought from Gemplers...
