My reviews cover indie games that i have bought, had gifted to me and have been provided by developers for review. In this episode I check out a new Indie City Builder game called Feudal Baron: Kings Land on Steam.
Feudal Baron: Kings Land is a City Builder, taking place in a Medieval Dark Ages, where the player controls the Ambitious Baron of a once wealthy family who has fallen on hard times. The King has taken most of your land, leaving only a tiny area with scarce resources. Your goal is to restore your families honour and prestige. In order to succeed youll gather resources, construct homes, farms and warehouses to supply your people, create an infrastructure through researching new technologies and trading valuable commodities, and industrialise your kingdom through Smelters, Blacksmiths and Workshops. Eventually you can raise and outfit army of your own, utilising medieval weapons and armour. Ensuring your safety from wild animals, bandits and rival kingdoms. Success will ensure the continued growth of your kingdom and the means to pay the Kings Tax, but failure will result in the King Taking everything youve worked so hard to build.
While Feudal Baron: Kings Land doesnt have some of the more advanced management mechanics found in more established City Building Series, the game has an easy to learn building and people management system, which is a perfect way for newer players to City Builders to enjoy the game. PlayWay continues to demonstrate their ability to release great games across different genres, and I recommend this game to fans of City Building Games and those who have enjoyed PlayWays other work

In Feudal Baron: King’s Land, you play as the ruler of a medieval barony. You start with just a few followers in their leaky tents. Are you a leader shrewd enough to turn your lands into a bustling city?
In this strategic city builder, you’ll get to live in the middle ages, constructing buildings, producing and delivering resources, and fighting off raiders until you’re strong enough to challenge the king himself.
Not on bread alone…
Your subjects need much more than food. Build taverns, churches, schools and graveyards. Cure plagues, extinguish fires, snuff out rebellions. Gather goods – from firewood and shoes to fine robes, stained glass windows and siege machine ammunition.
It’s the economy, my liege!
Trade with your neighbours and use a novel building range system to connect fields, mines, workshops, granaries and marketplaces into a fine-tuned mechanism to meet the needs of even the most finicky residents.
Politics and war
You have plenty of decrees to proclaim. Use them to celebrate feasts and make your subjects happy – or to drown rebellions in blood.
When raiders approach your town, lead your men and outwit your enemies to break the siege in the battle mode.

Easy to learn, hard to master
No need for endless tutorials and instruction manuals here. In Feudal Baron: King’s Land, the campaign introduces you to the duties of a feudal lord in a manner that is both approachable and fun, until ruling your barony becomes second nature to you – and your city becomes your home, built with your own hands (or more precisely, with the hands of your subjects).
