"I've reached the final battles now but don't expect the game to be beaten too soon."

ololo, so I couldn't fall asleep last night and kept practicing that new strategy until achieving perfection.

This video shows Tier 1, easily the easiest part of the final battles, albeit not without its own annoyances, and beginning of Tier 2, read: bloody nightmare.

First attempts to pass the first tier a week or so ago made be very upset but then I realised HP, status (such as being KO'd) actually carries on to the first tier. I wondered if Vanish remains with you as well, and was happy to find out it does.

This makes Tier 1 easy, as most attacks here are physical. Shock Wave, used by the left arm, hits through Vanish but after the left arm dies (either on its first or the second turn), we never see it used again. There's the threat of Reverse Polarity being used, however, and that one removes Vanish from the whole party. I made a point to restart every turn RP was used, though Shadow and Gogo could always set up it quickly with the help of the Throw command (and Mimic in Gogo's case).

Gogo is given Tools/Lore/Rage commands for the battle, meaning he misses out on being able to use Items. That's bad, but I couldn't find a way to go without either of the three.

Once the battle starts, Air Anchor should be used on the left arm, as it is vulnerable to instant death. It will die after taking its next turn.

The face and the right arm remain. We cannot allow to kill the latter first, because if face is the last part to go down it will cast Quake on the whole party for a quick game over. But, since Step Mine is our only way of dealing damage, we don't know if it'll hit the right party. This is why I use Elixirs on the boss to ensure the face is the first of the two to be KO'd.

I save stated before killing the right arm just in case and later realised how convenient this initially "weak" idea was. Even with a save state before advancing to the second tier, during this week I had to open that state well over hundred times just to see my party obliterated by the second tier, usually within seconds. The first strategy involved using Terra instead of Shadow but the idea of throwing Shields at Tiger proved to be useless because Force Field would cancel the element Tiger is weak to. Moreover, Shadow was crucial for another reason (will be shown and explained in the next video).

When we get to act, three enemies get their turn before us.

Magic casts either Imp, Haste or Haste2. Imp can be annoying when used on either Gogo or Strago, Haste is okay unless used on Tiger and Haste2 usually leads to a disaster given that you don't die after the first turn somehow.

Then there's Tools. Diffuser ends the game right there. Tek Laser kills one character, which is better. Grav Bomb is perfect, however, as it deals fractional damage based on current HP of the target.

Hit only hits and does nothing else. If characters are still in Vanish status, Hit's hits will not hit, though that may well happen seeing how Magic's and Tool's attacks unvanish the targets.

Tiger sleeps for the first turn, just to ruin our game (more often that not anyway) the next.

Here's what we want to do. Gogo uses Air Anchor or Tools, killing it on the second turn it takes, and Strago casts Sour Mouth on Magic disabling his spells for the entirety of the battle. If Strago dies, Gogo can do his part. If Gogo dies, we're in big trouble.

Half of the resets come from Diffuser being used on the first turn, or Atomic Ray on the second.

Okay, so if we succeed in killing Tools and silencing Magic, we have to take care of Tiger who will unleash either Flare Star, N. Cross or S. Cross next turn. S. Cross ends the game. N. Cross is what we hope to see, but if it freezes one character too many we're likely to screw up. Flare Star does damage dependent on party average, leaving Gau alive but there's not much he can do alone. Hit usually hits him with a hit before he can revive anyone (that being Shadow).

We want to see N. Cross and get lucky with it. When Tools is gone, the only deadly attacks remaining are S. Cross and Flare Star (see above). One is ice-elemental, another fire. Tiger takes time to kill and will cast those eventually.

This is when we start casting Force Field until the two elements are made useless.

Is the battle won? Not really. We want to get rid of Tiger first. We poison him with Sour Mouth and have one of the characters rage Mesosaur for Step Mine. Shadow, Strago and Gau support the party, the first two by reviving the fallen and Gau by raging Rhinox for the Life3 spell.

In this video, I do not succeed in killing Tiger just yet because Step Mine keeps hitting the wrong parts. Tiger is suffering damage from poison meanwhile, so he should die pretty soon, allowing us to continue our tactics.

I'll reveal further strategies in the next video description so stay tuned.
