So I've wanted to do a Class Challenge for sometime but FFVIII taught me that such restrictions are meaningless in the base games. I'd need to do it in a mod to make it truly worthwhile.
My idea was:

CLASS PERMITTED MATERIA
Cloud as Berserker (Mystify, HP Plus, Counter Attack, Deathblow, Double Cut)
Yuffie as Blue Mage (Enemy Skill, Sense, Morph, Manipulate, Mime, MP Plus)
Red XIII as White Mage (Restore, Heal, Revive, Seal, Mystify, Time, Barrier, Full Cure, Shield, W-Magic, W-Item, Sense, Final Attack, Quadra Magic, MP Plus, Magic Plus)
Vincent as Summoner (W-Summon, Final Attack, Magic Counter, MP Absorb, MP Turbo, MP Plus, Magic Plus, HP to MP)


I ended up having to combine WM and Summoner like FFIX/X because this mod just isn't feasible without magical protection and party healing.

For now though, Red was a fine WM and it worked great. I used him all the way up to after Rocket Town when I got Vincent.

As for this fight, she can be a real pain depending on if she wants to attack twice in a row. I woulda been fucked at the end if she had used Tail Laser twice. But she didn't so....yay!

I don't know if this will be doable all game or especially for optional bosses but I'm gonna try.
