Long live the Long Range Materia! Bottomswell is weak against Wind, so we can put Elemental=Choco/Mog in the weapon and take advantage of that. With this combination, Cloud can deal a whopping 80 damage! Sadly, Barret can only use the Assault Gun, since the Atomic Scissors aren't long range and the Cannon Ball from Kalm isn't worth the money. Still, together with Cloud, they can put out over 100 damage per turn and that's not bad.

The battle itself is anything but easy. All the phases need to be dealt with and the Waterpolos can be really nasty. They have 40 HP and I can't deal that much with a single magic spell, so I might as well just let them run out and use my MP on Bottomswell instead. I still haven't figured out exactly how his phases work, but you can calm him down from the first Waterpolo phase and then another attack will trigger Moonstrike. After he drops below 1/3 of his HP or something, he will stay in the Waterpolo phase until the battle is over.

PS. Forgot to fight the Midgar Zolom. I'll do that later.

This is the regular version of FFVII and Hardcore is only the name of the challenge. Rules:
