Another long and difficult battle. I'm not going to overuse the Powersoul, so I chose Red and Cait for my companions this time. Red because I need Haste and Cait because I haven't used him yet. Don't take his name too seriously. He obviously rocks.

MK hits hard. Very hard. Cloud can't survive anything without defending and no one can survive Hell Combo. Needless to say, you don't want to see critical hits either. This means you want the whole party defending by the time he gets a turn and that can only be arranged by slowing him down and hasting the party. Then you'll get one turn to heal and one to attack, but that's it. Thankfully, he can be paralyzed, and that's when we get to deal some serious damage.

Red has the Seraph Comb, which is the most powerful weapon yet with a whopping 68 Attack. Give him the Power Wrist as well and he can do ~140 damage with Deathblow. Not bad. Cait can also deal some good damage with his Dice if he's up all night to get lucky. I actually planned to get 2000 or 2400 in the beginning to shorten the video, but I got tired of resetting. I wouldn't consider that cheap, since I's still have plenty of time to show the actual strategy. Red can attack seven times when MK is paralyzed, but we'll play it safe and use the seventh turn for defending.

About halfway through the battle, he'll start using Cure2 on himself followed by Trine. This is a good thing because you get some extra turns to use Chocobuckle. Cloud has the Bolt Ring to survive Trine and the others have Elementals to half it, and they can just barely survive it with Sadness. In fact, it can deal too much damage, but as long as only one character dies, it's more than fixable. After Trine, he attacks three more times physically before another Cure2 and Trine, so this phase isn't dangerous unless you run into some really bad luck or do any mistakes.

Of course, I did some mistakes near the end that could have cost me the victory. First, I forgot to give a Tranquilizer to Cait so that he got killed by Trine and then I activated Red's limit break before Cloud's turn so that he wouldn't have time to defend again if I revived Cait. I had to make a choice to either revive Cait and put Cloud at risk or defend and hope nothing would go wrong on the next turn. What did I choose? Watch the video to find out. Another mistake I made was equipping a level 2 All Materia, but I didn't bother redoing the fight, so I just made sure not to use the All function twice.

Unfortunately, this is where the challenge ends because the next boss is impossible.

This is the regular version of FFVII and Hardcore is only the name of the challenge. Rules:

- No Damage Dealing Items
- No HP Plus
- Level 1 Materia Only
- No Sources
- No Poison
