FFXI Returning Players Guide: New Mount System
126In this video I explain how to unlock your own mount that you can use for free. This is an extremely useful and highly recommended. Not only is it free but it gives you the option for summon a mount in the field once per minute.
The only requirements for this quest are level 20, chocobo license, and map of Jeuno. The quest starts in Upper Jeuno and consists of a minigame which requires you to ride a mount to 5 points in Batallia Downs.
Once you have unlocked your first personal mount (a raptor) you will be able to trade the quest npc any additional mounts you acquire as well as your chocobo whistle.
